At Cataraqui Family Dental, our sleep dentistry options are designed to offer fearful patients a safe, comfortable means of receiving the treatment they need. Using a variety of techniques, we work to help our patients relax before and during their dental procedures so that they come away feeling more at ease with the notion of in-office oral care.
If you or your child have been avoiding the dentist, sleep dentistry may help you. Typically, a dentist will use local anaesthesia (i.e., freezing) to block pain during dental procedures. However, this does not remove the anxiety, sound, smell and uncomfortable, long appointments. Sleep dentistry will put you at ease, providing with relaxation, amnesia and extra level of pain control.
During the entire case, your vital signs will be monitored. These include heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen and carbon dioxide level, respiratory rate and ECG.
